In his recent chat with evolutionary psychologist Gad Saad on the "Joe Rogan Experience," Joe Rogan wondered why it is that only women complain about having to live up to unrealistic body standards. Saad theorized that it's because women are much more prone to Munchausen syndrome -- the psychological disorder that causes people to make victims of themselves in order to drum up sympathy from others. The Red Pill, of course, argues that playing the victim is one of the tactics women use when they are trying to get out of being responsible for their bad behavior. I'd argue that Munchausen syndrome is a sort of (to borrow a term from Richard Dawkins) misfire of that same mechanism. Either way, score another one for the Red Pill. This isn't the first time a scientist has said something that supported one of the community's tenets.
