I was actually thinking about this today. It is out there, I know a lady who is around 60 and she swore off after getting divorced at 30. Another friend I went to college with had a shitty marriage, lasted 2 years and has sworn off. Also Whoppi Goldberg has been public about being a WGTOW. I say good for them. Lets all stay the hell away from each other.

Aside from a few exceptions noted in other replies, most women are not capable of going their own way. They must depend upon either a man, or the state in order to survive.

Why would women go their own way? Life with a man is much easier for them.

If anything, our regular culture is WGTOW/Red Pill for women because it enables them to prioritize their own desires, shamelessly at that.

For it to mean anything, it would have to include them not consuming products of men's labor; i.e. starving and dying, outdoors.

I wouldn't be surprised if you have seen it the past, however, their WGTOW status gets them labeled as a Lesbian or Crazy Cat Lady.

Basically, both genders can face and oppose social norms and both will receive derision. "A woman isn't a woman until she's become a Mother", "Life doesn't have meaning without Children", "Better snag a man soon, you don't want to be an 'old-maid (Crazy Cat Lady)'"

I think the chief differences between MGTOW/WGTOW would be the overall sentiment that they'd receive from the societal viewpoint; MGTOW is viewed derisively(Man up, Your Responsibility...), WGTOW is viewed with pity(She focused on a career instead of finding a man..., she'll never know the pleasures of motherhood...).

WGTOW can be seen in the women that are very career oriented, are earning their own way, and aren't looking for a relationship or motherhood. A very very small group indeed.

My Aunt would be considered WGTOW, checked out of the dating game in her 20's and is in her 60's now. Learned her work ethics from her Father. She was a Post Master for around 30 years. She's always been independent and self-reliant.

Make no mistake though, I'm not saying WGTOW == MGTOW just with gender differences. Their paths are different, and I imagine true WGTOWers are attempting to overcome their own conditioning as well but it's that it's different. They wouldn't or most likely wouldn't understand MGTOW except maybe at the higher levels of just "Doing your own thing...".

it is case by case. Nuns are WGTOW. i met a retired librarian once, that only worked to retire and she was out. traveled. some people
just dont care about the plantation that theyve been sold upon...

They do exist. Its marvelous to find one because you see evidence that evolution is possible. They are rare because it is usually hardship and the knowledge that no one will save you that leads to MGTOW. So a WGTOW it seems to me is a woman with an unusually deep level of introspection who desires to see the "wiring under the hood" that leads her to living a solitary life of self refinement. A true witch might qualify. I've known two.

Women have always relied on men both directly and indirectly for survival, especially into adulthood. It is rather improper and misleading for a women to be WGTOW with such a large predisposition.

Also, something to keep in mind is many women will have lifelong existential crises if they do not conceive of children themselves. A women can have a fully fulfilled sense of purpose just by outputting a few offspring; finding purpose and meaning as a man is quite a bit more sophisticated, yet difficult.

honestly i think most women need a commited emotional partner for validation where as for men its more sexual to seek the same validation.

so going your own way has more of an impact on emotional commitment than sex hence women going their own way is less common because a long term single woman seems more depressed and lonely than a long term single man.

a man occupies his time on his pursuits and hobbies and can get validation from achievement. women seem to build a life around social validation and being "desired"
