The moral I take from the above conversation, is that you can't argue rationally with a women. Especially over an emotive issue like this one. It's not about logic to her. It's about emotion. She 'feels horrified' and no amount of logic is going to take that feeling away from her.

On the flip side, the conversation makes perfect sense in a male environment, because the men are going to appreciate the subtlety of the argument without getting hung up on the sensation of the subject.

TLDR; Don't argue with women.

I never looked into The Stanford Rapist. I just wasn't interested. Didn't care. They're calling him a rapist, banging some drunk passed out chick behind a dumpster. OK. Convict him, throw him away, he's a creep.

THEN I find out last week that his sentence was so short BECAUSE HE DIDN'T FUCK HER. So....tell me again why I've been reading headlines for months that say he's a rapist? What he did was wrong, and he should have done some time, BUT HE DIDN'T FUCK HER.

I don't work in legal circles nor is it my discipline, but I thought the whole thing was pretty unsubstantiated myself. If you read what's-her-face's little spiel that she read aloud in court at the end (which she shouldn't have been allowed to do and was unrelated to sentencing, which is what the judge was expecting to hear her talk about) you can read between the lines and see that she has a wild-child past from her own admission. She is trying to save face and dig any money she can out of his family. The useless broad knew the media would splash it all over every liberal news outlet in the English -speaking world. But I still feel sorry for Turner; this will follow him until the day he dies. But the nasty woman is not held responsible for her excessive drinking. If she was drinking and driving and ran over somebody she would have been held accountable. I fail to see any difference. Should Turner have done that or tried to do that? Obviously, no; but this woman is at least 50% to blame for the whole thing and Turner's punishment was more than what was warranted, I'd say. We don't know this woman's name but if we did I wouldn't be too surprised to see her name in the news again in similar situations in the near future; she is a serial rape-accuser in my opinion, though it can't be shown, and there are a lot of vile, lying broads like her.

Usually I don't have anything to say about these sorts of stories, but observation of the general public's reaction to them spurs my response this time. This story and the one about Martin Shkreli run along a very similar tangent in terms of what people are jumping to conclusions about. There has become this perception of our justice system having corrupt judges on people accused in crimes like rape and etc because the defendants fit the profile of the stereotypical privileged white male, alongside stories of harsher sentences for the same kinds of crimes for defendants that can be classified as minorities.

I smell media narrative and bias distorting the public opinion, urging a sort of extrajudicial call to action, but I can't really know for sure because I never sat on the jury of any of these cases.

Brock Turner received a much lighter sentence than the sort of conviction he was given usually leads to. Because he was white, male, and apparently well-off, the story shot to the forefront of news as a sensational tale that particularly appeals to the convictions of people who've had a whiff of the social justice kool-aid, as well as hordes of gullible average people who are just a bit too knee-jerk in their reactions to things.

Do I know whether or not the Brock Turner's sentencing was unjust? I can't really say, I don't know the details of the case, only that there's a lot of media hearsay and distortion so I can't really trust the facts from anyone. Maybe the judge was biased, maybe he wasn't. I don't know. It does seem like an odd sequence of events to me but I don't have all the verified facts.

Meanwhile, people who love to jump to conclusions played armchair judge all over social media and carried out a quaint little social justice campaign against this guy. Nearly every single comment I've seen from random average joes who just had to have their opinion about it translated to: 'Look at me and how progressive and virtuous I am! I abhor rape and demand justice! Aren't I such a noble and swell person!' Got him banned from USA Swimming competitions for life, many people even said he deserved death, and I'm sure there were other things that happened. The guy is effectively fucked for life now, everyone knows who he is and he's never going to recover. No redemption allowed whatsoever. Wouldn't be surprised if circumstances lead him to commit suicide eventually with how much he is universally hated.

It's not justice if many of the consequences carried out are arbitrarily decided outside of the court by the inconsistent standards of a mob that is absolutely partisan and by no means impartial. Jesus Christ in a handbasket, people go nuts like they're programmed squirrels when it comes to stories like these. They're so manipulable, and that's a very worrying sign for the future of justice of my country. I'm not here to defend Turner, but the way all of this went down is quite disturbing if you ask me.

I'm not mad at Brock Turner. He didnt actually rape her.

But I know for certain my poor black ass wouldve gone down harder for just touching a woman wrong. He gets off easy legal wise because he' s got money and status.

If anyone, this is just one of many cases wher having money gets you, literally, a get out of jail free card.

Be mad, but not at a rape that never happened, but by a widening wage gap that comes with immense advantages and disadvantages.
