I'm new to MGTOW (the movement not the lifestyle) but isn't having children more of a biological imperative than a rational choice, which can and should be overcome?
Also, becoming depressed about a situation is a choice.

You put far too much trust in the capabilities of institutions. I'm pretty confident sperm banks only think about profits, and the government hardly care about the emotional well-being of their constituents.
How can a child, who absorbs everything and mimics the behaviour of everyone they observe, not be heavily influenced by the leader of the family? Children learn how to interact from their fathers. Leaving a child without a male role model is a recipe for disaster. I've met some pretty fucked-up people - both little kids and adults who are either illegitimate or with an otherwise mostly-absent father - where the cause of their problems is abundantly obvious.
