I picture the entire Red Pill edifice as supported by the four pillars of:
Game - Looks - Assets - Status
If one is weak but the three others are OK, it'll stand.
If two are weak but the two others are seriously strong, it'll stand.
If three are weak, you're fucked whatever the strength of the only one standing.
Work on them four.

Yep I agree. I see a lot of post saying lift. Lift lift. But neglect to mention the importance of the other 3.
[–]Endorsed ContributorAuvergnat 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
It's the first advice because it's the easiest to implement, it also benefits your Game (inner game) and nobody can deny its benefits.
Game gets some bad rep from anti-PUAs.
Assets get some bad rep from those who believe money is beta (hint: it's not, it's how you use it).
Status, for some reason is not discussed as much as the others.

I would venture to say that because status is, in some form, a culmination of the 3 other pillars of TRP. Or more like if the 3 other pillars all banged and had a baby, which, besides having been begotten from the other 3, was still an entity all its own.
Status is informed and greatly influenced by the other 3.

Maybe instead of status he should have put social competence or social prowess. Those are the skills that lead to status.

I know what you mean and thought this but in the end found too many examples where it's not. Band leader, organizer of the party, owner of the bar, etc. I have a friend who is very, very successful with the ladies because he organizes the best parties at his place, complete with awesome bands and everything.
[–]Bulk_king11 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yep idk why this post is getting downvoted. This is good advice. And a good reminder for people who just swallowed the red pill or who have been lacking in the game department.
[–]Endorsed ContributorAuvergnat 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think you're getting downvoted because you make the assumption that people here think that lifting is the only thing to do. Most people here are very aware of the need for fashion and game and assets and others so what you say isn't news to them. Don't take it personally
[–]Bulk_king11 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
But for them to assume that all guys know that and this wouldn't help some who don't or are new are ignorant.
I can go through a ton of top post that the TL:DR is just "lift" it's more than that
[–]kwackerjacked 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Quick question- isn't "status" a direct result of "assets", so separating them into two categories is redundant, right? Correct me if I'm wrong
[–]Endorsed ContributorAuvergnat 2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
That's what I used to think. And after all, Rollo himself says "Looks. Assets. Game. Have two. Three is best, but if you only have one, Game is the most essential."
But over time, I've got to realize local social status is super important and relatively unrelated to assets. A friend of mine is having tremendous success with girls because he lives in a great house with an awesomely large garden, in which he organizes awesome parties with awesome bands. He takes on the mic to introduce bands, has massive respect from guys for organizing cool events in which there are girls, etc. Yet he just has a regular job, and is renting just one of many rooms in this otherwise old and dirty house and the rent is not huge. Likewise, his looks are average and his game is average. His success comes not from his money but from being the center of attention.
Another example is "successful band leader". Not making much money, but being the lead singer/musician of one of the best local bands.
Girls are often getting moist for the man who is responsible for "everyone having fun right now" and whose other guys are deferring with respect. Then as soon as one or two girls show interest (which is also local social status), pre-selection works its magic.
That's why I've added Status and that's the pillar I'm striving to improve the most

I know guys that think if they just lift the women will just flock all of a sudden
[–]desno 1 point2 points3 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I actually read the title and thought it implied you needed a lifting partner and thought "ffs OP some people can go at it alone"
But yes, I agree with what you actually meant. All lifting will do is make the game easier. You still have to participate.
[–]villa_gotaha 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In our society women expect us to approach them.
And regarding lifting, my biggest problem has been dieting properly. That by itself is more important than lifting. Because you look as good as the way that you eat. Once as I was able to get my shit together I had much more attention when I went out approaching.
Women fucking love abs, arm veins, and v lines!

Great point OP, I made a similiar one in another thread and was attacked for it saying I was making excuses not to lift, being a pussy etc. People don't understand that women think Justin Bieber is jacked as fuck. And he is just skinny. Buuuut.... he has amazing genetics. And thats another aspect which will limit your progress, some of us cant be attractive with just a ripped physique because of proportions. A big torso will allways make your limbs look small. I see this in girls too, a lot of girls go anorexic because they try to get a supermodel body, without the supermodel genetics. Unless you have great genetics, you cant be 10% bf and carry good ammounts of mass naturally. So play to your strengths. If you are the stubby kind, go for a more manly look like in the 70's broad and thick, dont kill yourself trying to look like a metrosexual god.
Also in general, more men than women comment on my shirtless body since i really grew into a more muscular physique. I have allways been athletic, and the only time a girl has EVER said anything positive about my body has been about touching my abs when I have been low bf%. But I enjoy working out, currently doing mostly fencing, calisthenics and kettlebells, so naturally over the years you build mass. Lift for you, not for her. Lifting for her is pedestalizing.
Edit: also, if you are pale, you will make 2 years of visual gains in shreddedness if you tan. I'm pale and dont tan for health reasons such as i dont wanna get cancer and dry my skin out, but I have tried it out for fun and it is fucking amazing. There is a reason why bodybuilders tan for competition, it makes you look waaay more jacked. Also, posture is arguably more important than 20lbs of extra muscle. Anybody can look good or "ill fuck him after a few drinks" good with great posture.

Another shit post.
Nobody here is saying lifting is enough. Lifting is one aspect of personal improvement that men can and should pursue. no one has said this is black and white ever.
Lifting, earning more income, pursuing your passions, establishing strong boundaries, learning how to say no, etc etc etc etc are all part of TRP and the growth required to become a man.
[–]Bulk_king11 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
The best part in this response is you say this is a shit post. And then explain exactly what I say in the post 😂
Some guys read a lot of these post and take it that all they need to do is lift. And it gives them an excuse not approach and improve other areas.
[–]massivewang 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Anybody who spends more than five minutes reading a post on liftign or making money can easily discern that the TRP is not about an easy fix, being black and white, or that there's only one way/requirement to improving your life and situation with women.
A detailed post on lifting, finances, style etc is just that. None of the quality posts I've seen on the topic have ever implied that the only way to succeed with women is to only do that specific thing.

Lifting doesn't magically turn you from an ugly guy into an adonis; what's new?
If you are a truly good looking guy you won't even need to lift to get women all over you.
[–]Cynewald 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah. True. You should lift to lower bodyfat to under 16% and improve muscularity to a certain point, but most guys overstimate how much muscle is attractive to females by over 30lbs. According to the O.P's logic, Christiano Ronaldo is "scrawny as fuck" (and unattractive to wiminz) coz he's bang on 175lbs +/- 3lbs at 6'1.
If your bone structure is shit making your face ugly you'll still be ugly to women no matter how muscular or fit you are.
