To acquire power, you must possess or control some form of Power Currency. The 5 Power Currencies 1)Resource Currency - Includes material objects like money, property, food. If you possess material things that someone else needs or wants, you have the power.

2) Expertise Currency - Simply, the more specialized or knowledgeable you are in a given subject the more power you possess.

3)Social Network Currency - A person who is linked with a network of friends, family, and acquaintances with substantial influence has high social network currency. Value is created by the ability to introduce people, "matchmake", and receive invitations to exclusive parties.

4)Personal Currency - Persona characteristics such as attractiveness, intelligence, charisma, communication skills, and sense of humor. Even if you lack resource, expertise, and social currency, you can still achieve a certain degree of influence and stature by being attractive, funny, or smart

5)Intimacy Currency- acquired when you share a close bond with someone that no one else shares. Ex: Asking a friend to pick you up from the airport and they agree by responding "only because you're my best friend"
