i was having very solid MGTOW-compatible thoughts on my own probably 6-8 years before i realized that MGTOW even existed.

some highlights of my firm beliefs before discovering MGTOW:

marriage is a license for women to get fat and lazy with impunity
marriage and / or co-mingling of funds is a fantastic way to lose half of your net worth
marriage is nothing more than a change in tax-status for a man, but a hefty legal weapon for a woman
why the fuck would i ever want to do that to myself
i have cheated on almost every girlfriend i have ever had, so acquiring an official piece of paper is unlikely to get me to change my innate behavior
working in a high-end casino, tip-based environment with 80% female co-workers and seeing their nature both "during showtime" and "behind the scenes" was the final nail in the coffin.

It’s simple. Mgtow is very dangerous for society. Men need very little to live well. Why people hate MGTOW, that's interesting question:

Most don't know what mgtow is, when they come to the sub - they aren't able to quickly understand what it is all about from what they read. They only see men here speaking about women with "heavy bias". People see what they wanna see, they do not come here with open mind. They like their own perception, we seem to them like from some other planet
People have their identify based around worshipping women, so they think our way is blasphemous.
Mtgow aren't majority, so it's always easy to hate us and put in same category of flat earther, geocentrism, anti vaxer, climate change deniers etc...
They are women, they've no idea what men go through. Most women don't have to put much effort to get into relationship - they can't feel or experience what we men go through. And simps have their identity around comforting women at any cost - mtgower for them is like accepting that they've been living a lie and their whole existence has been a joke so far, they've made efforts all in vain towards women.
It's not very different from how religion started. Whenever new religion came, most were against it from get go, untill it slowly started gaining critical mass from there the adoption accelerated.

They see here men are hating women, so we must be violent and harmful for women right? - but it's like a pressure valve of our society. These men venting here find comfort with other men who have similar experiences and realize hey aren't the only one going through this, so there is no need to take any drastic step, we've not been singled out and wronged - if anything MTGOWers will be least likely to ever harm a woman.

To put it bluntly, MTGOW allows a man to see reality for what it is, and to then start acting in his own self interest. Not the interest of some society who wants to control him, not the interest of some government that wants a docile tax-slave, not the interest of some woman looking to get married because all her friends have, but his own self interest.
