I love my son, but I was young and dumb and fell for the sirens song. Getting paid extra, and moving out of the barracks also helped make it seem like a good idea at the time. Never again.

I'm sure having a intact family unit with a couple kids is greata and fulfilling but then you have to realize that you have a much higher chance at situations that lead to suicide(losing custody, having tons of child support, false accusations-DV or sexual assault) No way is it worth the risk

What are you talking about it? No one brags about it in your circles/spheres of influence. Plenty of people have normal functional marriages with kids. MGTOW is right in that the laws need to be fixed regarding alimony, child support, and custody, but greatly exaggerates a bunch of things. it's a place to jest and have fun. It's not the gospel. Like honestly, if you want kids don't let some random internet movement decide for you.

As a young man getting married isn't in your best interest from a legal/financial stand point because the laws are stacked against you. So you should definitely ignore societal pressure telling you to rush into marriage and have kids. fuck that. Take your time. Weigh your options. And if you find someone that works then go for it. Being absolutely rigid in a mindset isn't intelligence. It's borders cult like behavior.

If you don't actually want kids then cool. This subreddit is great to remind Men that you don't need to follow the dogma. However, if you do want kids and you let some random philosophy stand in your way.

Anyway, from my experience having kids has pros and cons. Decide for yourself. Basically dude. People who don't rush into marriage and take their time have like a 70-80% success rate.

From my experience, men generally don't brag about it openly, especially on social media. But they'll talk about their kids to other men they can trust in private, both good and bad. I guess since we live in a society where children can do no wrong, men (who are still expected ironically to be the disciplinarians) can't scold or criticize their kids openly, so they're relegated to venting to other men, since oddly enough, men do tend to be very simpathetic. Women on the other hand are quite the opposite. Just look at social media, and you'll see women humblebragging on howuxh they're blessed to have such wonderful kids who can do no wrong, yada yada yada.

I am from a middle class family with two loving and supportive parents. After almost 30 years of marriage they are still satisfied and happy with their lives. My father works full-time and after being a stay at home mom who did translation work and web designer for some years, my mom re-entered the office space when I was 11. While my father is the family's main breadwinner, my mother also works to cover our bills. I have to say that I am incredibly grateful for them and all that they have done for me. My parents almost never have conflicts, and when they do, they sit down and discuss a solution. After about 35 years of knowing each other, they still love each other very much and are extremely affectionate. I am very much aware that this is not the case in many marriages and can still see the effects of these vicious breakups in many of my friends. However, I see just as many happy couples. Many of them don't ever get married and are still happy, such of my parents' close friends, who have been together for almost 40 years. When I asked my dad about this, his response to the question was "If you are truly happy with something, you will never see the need to brag about it."
