I too became more selfish, I realized no one is going to care about my own happiness more than me.

Just remember, a favor you do twice becomes and obligation by the third time and people will look down on you if you refuse.

A constant to keep in mind is that everyone is out there for their own self interests and won't mind using you for them, there's nothing wrong with selfishness.

Some men are just born to be good boy cucks and some of us are born to rebel and go our own way.

Don't take it personally. Its who you are, you just aren't like them. My family and some of my friends have similar feelings towards me but i've accepted it. We are what people would call "realists" and realists are usually cynical people.

Just try and be the best cynical person you can be. Use your cynicism for good, to help people. Just know when its not needed or helpful and keep it to yourself.

Always remember that as a realist, you are existing in a world of dreamers and dreamers don't like being told that they are dreaming.

The challenge today is most people are selfish, circles of friends are becoming smaller, which is ironically a precursor to the shit hitting the fan

What is wrong with taking care of yourself first, especially in the world we're living today? The horizon is dim, with or without your "friend" false sense of altruism. Last but not least, you can become an individualist without being a "shallow cunt". Two different things. Also, why don't you keep it quiet a little bit about mgtow?

The trick is IMO helping someone else isn't bad at all. It makes the world a nicer place to live. However always ask yourself first "do I want to do it/ can I do it?" Self preservation first. Never help if it's to your decrement. Second: wait for someone to ask help in the first place. Don't be the white knight jumping into cliffs before people realize they need help. It can be actually dangerous for yourself to help someone who doesn't know he/ she needs help.

Help people only when they ask explicitly for help.This is very important.Women almost never ask(use innuendo) for help they expect help to be automatic and men to read their minds when they need help.

Help must be reciprocal and fit to MGTOW philosophy.Helping people is not against that.Helping people sometimes is like helping yourself.

Ex:

if I help you now, I expect to be helped tomorrow no questions asked.We are social people but we should not take advantage one of another.

So that is not selfishness is self respect .Put yourself first also when helping people.

No, aircraft safety procedures won't lead you to enlightenment. But I find it a good encapsulation of the idea that to provide for others, you must first provide for yourself - in a way it's neighbors with "be the change you want to see" and "worry about the log in your eye before the splinter in someone's foot".

My personal definition of a man is someone who provides for his tribe (and by extension, himself). It is well-documented here that men provide the taxes society is built on, and that a lone man can typically live on a third of his full earning potential. A MGTOW in this sense is a man who excludes most (if not all) women from that tribe.

What I found in my journey was that my blue-pill desire to please everyone ended up costing me dearly since I would always give away resources to please others (mostly females) and to tell myself the lie that I was a "good" person for doing so. This sense of trying to be a "good" person led to me getting woke and subsequently going broke.

During that time, I latched onto that piece of the FAA's safety statement as a reminder that I can't help anyone without helping myself. I focused on my own goals and growth to the point where others called me a sociopath, narcissist, etc. Eventually I confronted myself and acknowledged that at the core I am simply a self-interested monkey with a brain just big enough to care about some (but not most) people. Once I accepted that things in my life started to click into place.

The funny thing was, as things began to go well for me personally, I found myself more kind and giving to others without making an effort to do so. It would be little things like buying an excessive amount of steak on sale and cooking them for my friends. Or refusing to attend family events unless I was specifically needed to lift something heavy. It felt callous at first but now everyone seems fine with having someone on-call to help them move and who occasionally brings dinner.

My point is, being a selfish, cynical cunt is not mutually exclusive with being MGTOW - and neither is being helpful. Selfishness exists as a trait to make sure your own survival needs are taken care of. It just so happens that as a man, you will find yourself with a surplus of those resources in the course of collecting them. It your choice of when and to whom you share them - and a MGTOW is simply particular about how he makes that choice.

The problem with your way of life is when you run into issues. Sometimes it's easier getting by when you have people that can help you out. That's why many times I go out of my way to help someone out. No one ever gives me any issues and with my set of skills and kindness I can go to anybody and ask them for help within reason and pretty much get it. In a way it's good networking. It's good not to expect anything in return, but if you need a favor those people that you have helped in the past will feel like they owe you.

We all go through struggles and many times it's hard to do it all yourself. Best of all if you play nice with people you don't really like you can royally screw them over with everything you know about them.

It's good to play the long game and do things you don't always like to build a reputation and relationships with people that can help you on your journey of becoming wealthy.

You never know who knows who and what business propositions they could offer simply by being the nice guy who did someone a favor.

I would consider talking about mgtow to be a pretty bad idea. Talk about the ideals but do not talk about mgtow. I do it all the time at work. Most people, even the women love me. Just not enough to date me. Haha

You are not becoming a selfish c**t by any means. You are going through a similar thing I went through years ago. What you are becoming is am man who is not afraid to prioritise his own needs over those of others. You are becoming a man who places value on his time an expects others to do the same. You seem to have developed an awareness that to prove their worth to you before you are going to bother with them. The last part is most important as the world is full of f**king idiots who are not worth pissing on. Most importantly, you are rejecting the role that society just loves to put upon men - being a commodity to provide services - and establishing yourself as an individual with justifiable needs and wants.
