That picture, represents a time of:

salaries, being that high that a low schooled blue color worker at 25, could on his salary be the provider/buxxer for a stay at home wife, children, buy a home, own a car, holiday at least 1 time per year, and do a bit of saving.
stay at home moms
men pushed into the provider role by society (to add, is was easier thoigh at that time to be a provider due to higher salaries)
plenty unhappy marriages, because the man didn't like it or the female didn't like it or both. But a strong push from society to stay together, even when it was a shitty marriage

Circumstances, salaries, society pressure/push, common beleives, lifestyle.. It has all changed alot in the West (and beyond), from the times of the above picture.
It all started changing in God speed, since in 1960 the introduction of the widely available birth control came, and it was a big hit with women. Because now most women didn't get pregnant anymore at young age, and all started persuing other things such as: study, cc-riding, partying, carreer/work, and so on.

Almost every family that is related to me eats like that pray first and no phone. And i am grafefull for it to my mother, and her family they kept the faith... And they were diferent generation, she was faitfull religius but she is controf freak. But she kept the faith so i could have it as a older. I sucked as a child.
