Moneyball is pure Red Pill. It's been overlooked in this community because it happens to be about baseball, and not the sexual market place. The principle is the same, though. Analysis trumps intuition.

The movie is about a philosophical revolution in baseball that happened very recently, and is still happening. For more than a hundred years, players were picked based on how much scouts liked them. The problem is, scouts are biased. A good looking guy makes a better impression than an ugly guy with the same talent. An outgoing guy is going to have an advantage over a loner. Scouts are only human.

The new way of doing things is based on stats. You look at a player's results. You put a price on that. How good an impression he makes is irrelevant. If other teams don't want the ugly guy, good, you can get him for cheaper.

Moneyball focuses on the Oakland A's, the first team to implement this approach, less than 20 years ago. Since then they have been one of the most cost efficient teams in baseball, consistently getting results far above what their budget would normally allow.

Rigorous statistical analysis is now a lot more popular in baseball, but it is still not the de facto norm. Put that into perspective. Baseball is a competitive, multi-billion dollar industry. There are huge incentives to optimize, and still people cling to outdated methods.

That's exactly what the Red Pill is about. Analysis. But if people are hesitant to drop their intuitions about baseball, they are definitely not letting go of their intuitions about romance anytime soon. Which is good for us. The sexual market place is just as competitive as baseball, and your competitors are using outdated strategies.

Unfortunately, due to heavy feminist influence in developed countries, a lot of useful statistics about the sexual market place are unknown. We do know some things though.

We know that being in shape boosts your SMV by a lot, for a relatively low time investment. Definitely a good strategy for any guy. We know that girls put value on older guys, so you'll be able to get higher SMV girls if you date down in age (regardless of whether you prefer younger girls, but based only on the extra value you provide to them). We know that being good in bed boosts your SMV, and the proper way for a man to behave in bed is not politically correct enough to be the norm.

What about the female side? A 9/10 girl with >20 sexual partners is extremely overvalued for long term relationships. Fools gold. Girls with low partner counts are undervalued (an average guy today puts value on a low partner count, but nowhere near enough value). Introverted girls are undervalued because most men are too cowardly to talk to them, artificially limiting their options. They'd get hit on a lot in clubs and bars, but many don't like to go out.

It's not my goal to make an exhaustive list here of strong strategies in the sexual market place, only enough to complete the analogy.

Watch Moneyball. The approach that Billy Beane takes to baseball is the approach that we take to the sexual market place. The criticism that he receives is analogous to the criticism that we receive. He succeeds for the same reasons that we do. Analysis trumps intuition.
