I felt very early, like when he was 10, that I had to respect the man he was becoming. I had to treat him, at least a little bit, like he was already the man he would become. This probably applies to girls too, but I’ve only had boys. He’s 17 now, and Im sure he has everything he needs to be a great husband someday, and man overall. Respect his manhood.

It’s your job to nurture and show him what a lady is supposed to be like. His dad should do more of the teaching of how to be a man. Or atleast that’s how our home is. However, I do still teach my boys to clean up after themselves and let them cook if they’re interested. I want them to know how to do things for themselves so they’re not helpless even if they do end up having a stay at home wife.

I'm in the same boat, but my son is 1. Little boys are wonderful!

Strong male role models. Husband being the main. My friend also had 2 girls, then 1 boy, and 1 girl. There was an age gap. He started to love school because there were other boys who wanted to do what he wanted to do. I think having like-minded people around with similar values is very important for people of any age. It's good for even toddlers to learn social skills and build relationships. Children learn so much just from their parents being examples to them.

Additionally, I believe in being honest with children. Teach them strong values from the beginning. Santa, Easter bunny, ect are fictional. Presents and candy come from mommy and daddy. Children are quite intelligent, even at a young age.

Allow your boy to express his emotions don’t tell him to man up. There was a study that showed that mothers are more likely to perpetuate the boys don’t cry trope onto sons than are fathers
