After becoming MGTOW I realized one of the most important stories in the Bible is Adam and Eve. It literally tells man to be suspicious of woman right from the get go and not only that; listening to women lead to man’s downfall setting up the entire story arch through the New Testament. Jesus also didn’t marry and is thought to have ignored women. He was almost like a “civil” MGTOW.

I always felt the apple represented the evolution of higher consciousness and advent of agriculture/herding. Once we gave up that foraging lifestyle and animal innocence, we could never go back. Civilization offers some cool benefits like manufactured goods, but it's a hell of a lot of work to maintain. "Sweat of your brow" indeed.

Eve being the instigator can't be understated. 99% of what men do is to impress/woo/please women.

Ever heard of serpent seed theory?

Some christian sects believe that the apple is a metaphor for Adam being cucked by the Serpent.

The reason Cain is such an evil bastard is because he is the bastard child of Eve and the Serpent.

They were not in Heaven. But they were in a place where they could have a special relationship with God. The good news is God completed his rescue plan in the NT and we can have a relationship with God again since he paid the price of our sins and bridged the gap.

It was not a apple, but we all have something that tempts us, something we need to reject for God. Also let's not downplay Satan's role, who in his pride became a murderer from the beginning.

But something in the Bible of note that I see overlooked all the time in comments is this passage right here:

Gen 3:16 To the woman he said, "I will greatly increase your labor pains; with pain you will give birth to children. You will want to control your husband, but he will dominate you."

So you see this is how things have been through history, women want to control men and men have to dominate them. This is part of the curse handed down from God to married couples specifically part of eve's curse.
