Ok let's put her into average categories, 5'5", 25 years old is what I'm going with based on average female height and median age. Max healthy weight is 141 lbs. She's like what, 160-170? That falls into "overweight" in medical standards. Not obese. I said she was overweight. I'm not saying she's healthy. She's just not that bad.

It’s hard to say how much she weighs, but if she’s 170 and 5’5” she would have a BMI of 28.3 which is getting close to obese. It’s a shame because I think she would be really hot if she lost like 40 pounds. I think the reason so many guys are supposedly into “thick” girls these days is because so many of them are fat that there aren’t a lot of other options for a lot of guys.

I was just gauging based on the appearance. I could be off. She is overweight, I'm not denying that. I would encourage her to lose weight because its unhealthy but she's no where near the "my 600 pound life" level of obese.
If it weren't for a few missing features, I would have guessed this was a mom. It would be fairly normal for a woman who's been pregnant to have this kind of body. It's overweight for a young girl, but I hate to see shaming of something this minor bc a lot of older women especially those who have kids have these kinds of bodies and sometimes no amount of exercise can fix it, this much has even been proven (some hormonal issues in post partum women can make it so that the female body will retain fat no matter what, making it nearly impossible to lose significant amounts, I've known a woman with this issue).
The girls guys call thick are usually just big breasts and thighs and tiny waists, which is ironically still nearly impossible for most. Sometimes its just showing off body parts made of fat - I've seen girls who can't be more than 100 lbs called thick too. There's nothing wrong with girls who are slightly chubbed at the upper ends of the healthy weight range. I've been called chubby back when I was 130 pounds. I still think it's better than what we had in the early 2000s where standards were stick figures and girls were dying of self starvation.

Yea, REAL thick girls just have naturally big butts/thighs and a lot of it is muscle, not just fat. But nowadays people will call a girl like that “thick” and claim that she’s perfectly healthy. The standard of beauty in the early 2000s might’ve been thinner, but the obesity epidemic was still very bad during that time, so I don’t think a large percentage of women were starving themselves. Some were of course, but there still are some women starving themselves today too.

Yeah, I don't deny that. I think the role models just changed. It should be in the middle. Like nowadays people are praising lizzo or whatever as if she's not putting her life at risk with her weight.
The problem with the 2000s for me was the scene culture and lot of the punk rock girls, as I was really into that. They essentially had sticks for legs and arms, etc. Unsurprisingly that culture heavily overlapped with the proana culture. I got into scene stuff on Tumblr as a teen which led to being sucked into the anorexia "culture" which looking back is almost like a cult or something. I'm not certain but I think there has been a gradual decline in anorexia over the last decade.
