Why isn't body hair universally attractive on men when it's a masculine trait?

A lot of women actually do like body hair but keep in mind body hair is not the only determining factor.

A neckbeard with a hairy chest is not exactly attractive all of the sudden because he has body hair. A man has to already have a strong masculine foundation for women to go "ooh he has some body hair too."

Personally, I stay smooth because muscles look best when they're not covered in hair.

Because women are particular in the grooming of said hair and many men don’t know how to groom it and just look unkempt
