Because I date, and technically have a girlfriend (she thinks this, not me. She's more a fwb) as I am not completely monk, I thought I'd share this story.

I love video games. One of my favourite things to do if I'm not lifting weights or riding motorcycles. (Adding that part so you guys know I have other hobbies and dont waste my time doing nothing) I have very employed well before Corona virus, and now am an essential service. I work in a prison and have been able to save quite a bit of money. Later today I am going to a local computer shop to buy new parts to upgrade my PC because I want to, and use it often. I also use it for drawing with my tablet, so having it fast and useful is great.

I am getting a new processor, i5 9600kf, a new mobo z390 a pro, a 2tb hdd for storage, a new gaming mouse because my walmart mouse is shitty. I also want to get a new gpu, was thinking the rtx 2070 (any help on a recommendation would be appreciated)

So last night, she is over and her, my brother and I are playing playstation VR, the walking dead. While she's playing my bro and I are looking at pc parts that will work for me. I said that I was thinking of the 2080. He said it's almost $1,000. I jokingly told him there was a $7,000 graphics card I saw, and that I'm going to get it. She turns to me and tells me "NO. You're not getting that." Taken back, because she's not done this before, I looked her straight in the eye and tell her "you dont ever get to tell me what I can spend MY money on." She looked sheepishly at the floor and didnt bring it up again.

My brother knew I was kidding, and he also doesnt care that I am spending however much money I am. Hes my younger bro, and even offered to help with the cost, which I declined, but he just wants me to really enjoy my pc and play it without having issues with any games. Hes a serious gamer who streams and understands what it's like to have a good rig.

I'd much rather play games with him than be told what I can and cant do. So, today, when I go to the store with him, I am tempted to buy a gpu along with the other parts to upgrade my pc just because, because no one tells me what I can and can't do with MY money.

I know a lot of you guys will tell me to ditch her or ask why this is on mgtow. I just thought I'd share. I spend $0 on this girl. She pays for herself evry time we go out, or pays for both of us. I dont spend a lot of time with her either. I spend more time with my bro or alone working on things than with her. I dont tolerate disrespect from anyone and call her on her shit always, without fail. She has learned to not fuck around with me. I have offered to show her the door many times if she presses me for things, and she never continues the behaviour again.

The one who cares more, loses. I dont care enough to be bothered by whatever happens, so I win.
