I am turning 23 in a couple weeks and I still live with my parents in a suburb of NYC. They're very chill so it's a good setup especially during quarantine, but I recently got laid off from my (pretty shitty) job that was nearby because of this damn virus.

Once the corona madness is eventually winding down I want to get a new job and move away from home.

My ideal city would be great nightlife, good music scene (I am a huge music guy/fan and go to many concerts), and good hookup scene with girls/easier to get laid. I also want to work in Data Analytics.

Growing up around NYC, I know it very well and could definitely see myself living here - it meets the criteria stated above. However, I really wouldn't mind seeing something different, and very few if any of my high school and college friends live there. It's also just super expensive and congested, and kind of overwhelming to me at times despite me spending a lot of time there .

I've been reading about Austin a lot, and it seems like it also meets the criteria and would be a ton of fun. Good food, cultural variety, music, lots of college girls at UT and people in their 20s in general, plus a more relaxed vibe than NYC. Also a good tech scene for Analytics-related work.

I have a couple job-related connections in Austin that I am in the process of reaching out to, but I wanted to see what people here thought about moving to Austin vs. staying in NYC.
