Sorry, I’m not sure if this is the correct place to post. If not, please direct me to the appropriate subreddit :)

So my husband and I had planned a graduation dinner at a local fancy Chinese restaurant. This place has been around for years and isn’t getting as much business as usual, but is just as delicious as ever. Long story short, we made a reservation for 10 about a month ago. Due to various other family obligations on both sides, we couldn’t find a date this week that worked for everyone and decided to cancel...

Well I thought he was canceling since he originally made the reservation and he thought I was canceling...it never happened. We got a call this evening from the restaurant asking if we were still planning on coming in tonight. Obviously I feel awful because they’re a fantastic small business that has always accommodated us and done an excellent job. Is there something I can do to remedy this? Or was my apology over the phone sufficient? It doesn’t seem like enough!

Thanks in advance.
