Now, sex strikes have a long pedigree and there is some evidence that they work. But as many other women have pointed out, a sex strike perpetuates the damaging myth that women are not sexual beings. And, since women are in fact sexual beings, a sex strike hurts us as much as it hurts men. So I would like to propose a radical alternative for punishing misogynistic men who seek to deny us our rights: a marriage strike.

What is this supposed to mean? She's not striking she just doesn't want to get married. It's not a strike if you weren't going to do it anyway. And she keeps equating living with men with marrying them, and only speaking against marrying them. If you marry a man and live separately, you will probably not face these problems she mentions. But if you live unmarried with a man, you absolutely will.

Men wanting you to fuck them but them not wanting to get married is what we are up against. It doesn't matter that marriage benefits men more. You can't do a strike that the people you're striking against love? Why are they going to care about dying a few years early as long as you keep shagging them (and keep doing their housework, probably!) If men weren't like that, they wouldn't have half the heart disease etc. rates they have from not taking care of themselves

If a sex strike hurt women more or equally it probably wouldn't work so well on men, but as she says, they work. And it would be the female incels who were nutters not the men. We know, women have always known, that it's this way around

she literally starts her article telling women not to sex strike even though it works... that's not exactly blackmailing but it's something sinister, if it's not simply being thick. Anyway, the thing men get from marriage is a wife. But they can still get a wife without her having public recognition or legal benefits, and that woman is worse off than an actual wife because of that.

Apart from sex strikes, the other female strike that has worked is a general women's strike like they did in Iceland. What hit Icelandic men really hard was women not doing housework and childcare. But Criado-Perez thinks that's fine as long as you make it nice and easy for him to leave you in the lurch after spending years doing those for him. Just make sure to keep having sex with him too, or he might leave you.

Omg, sorry, this is more concise, now I realised it I could have left it at this: if this would work, men would leave women who didn't get married quickly, like they leave women who don't have sex quickly. But men often demand sex on the first date, or even without a date, but refuse to get married. I also see men talking about little tests they've designed to make you clean their house and cook for them. That's where you can hit men. They tell us!
