Hello. English is not my first language so bear with me. I have been browsing this forum for a while and i want to thank you all for the advice here. I have a small problem of my own and i want to ask for some help.

I'm a 22yo female and 2 years ago i have been in a relationship of 1year with a guy i met at an contest for a job. He was 1year younger than me. I loved him very much, but he was always mean to me: i wasnt allowed to call him more than 2 times/day, he would meet other girls, go to their place to help them sutdy, i paid for everything (my parents did), including 2 trips to the seaside and overall he made me feel like a bad and ugly person. We eventually broke up cause he wanted to end the relationship and for 1 year i cried for him, wondering what i did wrong.

Recently, about a few weeks ago, i met a new guy. He's 7 years older than me and he seems very genuine, but im afraid to get into a new relationship. He is very smart and very rational (he seems like he has no emotions, everything must be analyzed), though he is insecure about his looks (he works out a lot tho). He is very much into philosophy, and im not, and he earns good for eastern europe, translating books for a publishing company.

Everything was going well, he made me laugh a lot, but when he kissed me unexpectedly one time, all my memories came back and i reacted badly and he did too, but he later apologized saying he still doesnt know how to fully control his feelings and need time alone. But i fear being ignored. When im nice to him, he is the sweetest guy in the world, but sometimes he's very distant.

I am afraid of being hurt and im not sure if he takes things too fast. He even said he wants to meet my parents . Im very conflicted about this and i dont know what my feelings are. What would u suggest i do? Thank you!
