I'm sorry for being harsh, but you already seem in a Pickmeisha-LVM relationship dynamic. You are doing all the work, doubting yourself if your natural reaction is "overreaction" and trying to justify his low-effort behavior. There is nothing much to do but to cut this off and keep working on your self-worth. I hope something better comes your way soon!

Btw, I have heard (and seen a little bit in my friends' relationships) that musicians are often very low effort and low value. I wonder if there is some truth to it.
