I'm new(ish) to this sub, so I have a general question for you lady veterans in regards to overall philosophy.

I notice that a lot of content here seems to be focused on "just saying no" to LVM...and with good reason! Discernment is of the utmost importance, as is learning to quickly disengage from behavior that is indicative of unhealthy dynamics and low levels of commitment.

As a newcomer, however, the vibe here seems to be a bit...harsh in a way that is lacking nuance? So I guess I'm asking for y'all to explain some of the nuances of the philosophy to me.

For example, where does compromise with one's partner come in? Where is the line between "not dating projects" and finding someone willing to grow with you? How does one asses one's realistic " value" such that one doesn't ultimately end up deeply lonely because she thinks she's too good for anyone interested in her? Also, one of the rules is to avoid dating men who are "financially challenged", yet it seems feasible to me that there are HVM who just haven't amassed wealth yet.

I'm not trying to be contrary, I am honestly just curious. The devil is in the details.
