I was talking to a very nice man from China. He told me updates about the coronavirus and how it's affecting everyday life there. Even though this deadly virus is going around, and even though schools are closed and travel through the country is limited, he is still planning to take a plane and travel for hours to see his girlfriend on Valentine's day as a surprise. My heart sang for them. It is such a beautiful and kind thing, and I just love talking to a good person like that. It reminded me about FDS and that a good man really isn't deterred by anything when it comes to someone he loves. He will move mountains for sure. Once you realize what high effort looks like, it's so much easier to set standards for yourself and wait to be treated well. There are so many good people out there, but if you put low effort on a pedestal, as if that is all there is, well that's all you'll get.
