Ladies, I need help showing and expressing my needs and standards to guys. I know I want to be treated like a queen in a relationship but I have no idea how to express that to a guy. I always end up in situations where I don't know how to react. I never know how to verbally express or show through actions that I expect certain treatment or refuse to tolerate certain things. Let me just give you some examples:

First guy I went out with would always prioritize himself first. In all restaurants and places he'd walk in first and let me walk behind and open the door for myself. He'd always grab the most comfortable seat for himself, especially if there was a couch and I'd end up sitting on a hard chair. In a crowded bus he'd take the seat for himself and make me (in high heels!) stand for the rest of the ride. (I want a guy who always puts me first and would have offered me the seat!) He forgot my birthday and got me a gift I had no interest in (a t-shirt from a gamer he was into..)

In these kind of scenarios, how would you react? What would you say? How do I set my standards and express how I expect guys to treat me? Because I definitely expect a whole lot more than that but I just don't know how to show it. I dumped the guy a long time ago, but I still think back wondering HOW I should have reacted, WHAT I should have said because all I did was remain quiet.

The second guy I went out with went from extremely interested to zero effort in a matter of 5 months. From texting me every day to not bothering to call for THREE months because of ''exams''. Yet whenever he needed a boost he'd text that he missed me. What I'm mostly angry about is that I let it go on for three whole months without firmly reacting. And I still don't know how I should have reacted in the beginning - what would you have done when a guy goes from that high to low effort? Like how do you show that you're not going to tolerate that?

Third guy would constantly make plans to call me and we'd decide on a day and time (LDR thing kind of, bad idea I know) - but then he was always, ALWAYS 5-20 mins late for our phone calls and I just didn't know how to express that I'm not fine with that.

Basically, I don't know how to lay out my requirements and show that I expect a guy to invest and put in effort. I've read Becky vs. Dreamgirl and this is exactly what my problem area is. ''you control how you will be treated (Becky or Dreamgirl) by showing him what you will tolerate, and how much you expect. '' I don't know how to show a guy what I will tolerate and how much I expect. I'm unsure of how to apply all the things I've read in real life when interacting with guys and when dating.

Please help me out with advice and how you handle different situations!

Sorry for the lenghty post!
