I come from a very matriarchy household but lately my brothers behaviour has towards me has been constantly excused. And, I honestly feel that they have ruined meat enough every special celebratory event that I have had.

My younger brother is white-cis and believes that there is this hidden agenda in the world where they are now currently attacked; by feminists, homosexuality, black culture etc. My older brother is overly critical, pick problems with everything I do so much so that he had ruined my graduation. I never achieved a first, already disappointed and he used that as means to ruin my day.

Now, this Christmas my younger brother bought me a book on third wave feminism. I don't care so much about the book, when I told him it wasn't a "very appropriate time to give me this". My mum kicked back saying how he was only trying to "educate me, there are different opinions in the book and he had bought it so I can learn". Still, Christmas is not an appropriate time to bring a subject that we both do not agree on at Christmas!

I've been abused, I know other women who have been abused, but when a conversation comes up my younger brother calls it "fake news", or says "well men ... too". I am so tired with my brothers and this family telling me that my opinions are wrong, not valid, and then being called a liberal because I don't agree on them with many topics aside from women's rights.

In the light of this, can you lovely ladies recommend me some books I will actually read?
