So I woke up to an absolute shit storm on my Twitter this morning. I did a bit of snooping, and what I found out was shocking, disgusting, concerning.. Just disheartening.

So a brave woman I follow has created a list of all the men(some women included) who have sexually assaulted, harassed her over the years. Bit by bit, hundreds of women came forth, all with their own stories of how men have coerced them into sex, raped them, stealthed, touched them inappropriately ect.

And thus a longer list of names was formed - these names were private and have been shared with other women through DM's so women can identify heterosexual male predators they may unknowingly follow, interact with, be friends with. And as a result stay away from them. Guard themselves.

I came across the list (I will not share) and wow... There are some big Uk names, very popular Uk people, influencers, people with huge followings on the list. As well as small names.

What disturbed me wasn't just the reality that almost every woman has been sexually harassed in some way.. But rather other women defending the men, talking about how "they know these guys personally, they'd never do such a thing"... Then a woman sent the list to a guy who then revealed it. Now, these predators are threatening those who came forth privately, those who had the courage to share their abuse and once more the abuse is occurring.

In the light of 19 year old Toyin (may she rest in power), a young woman who alerted the authorities of her sexual harassment and was met with silence, who then tweeted about it and was found murdered days later, I just cannot understand the thought process behind revealing such a list to the very same people women are trying to protect themselves from.

Several of the men are deactivating, refusing to comment. Others are victim blaming. Most of them are being protected and supported by their followers, sadly many of them women, who see no harm in what they have and are doing. One of these predators in particular is a very well known woman, she has been using her platform to interact with children (male and female) inappropriately, including photography.

Ladies, if you have been assaulted in any way - verbally, physically, sexually, emotionally. It was not your fault, you are no less of a woman, you did not deserve the abuse, no one does. I hope you have healed or are learning to heal from it. Please don't stay silent, you deserve to be heard,tell a friend, family, even us here on FDS are a family of some sort.
