Instruments to play

None of them are easy, they take a shitload of practice to even get remotely competent and are a major commitment of time/resources. If this is good with you, then I'd have to say bass. I've been playing in bands for decades and finding a solid bass player is always a struggle while guitarists/drummers seem to be everywhere. An awesome bassline can elevate any song.

playing an instrument is a lonely journey. even if u play with ppl, u ll do here and there, 90% is u alone sucking. So pick the one that sound u like more.

Dont pick an instrument because you think it will be “easier”, pick one that really interests you and you see your self actually doing. I started with guitar about 11 years ago, during that time i have experimented with a bass and a ukulele, however I always come back to my guitars. None of them are “easy”, as you start digging down the rabbit hole you will find things can get quite complex. Now, I guess the ukulele can be easier on your fingers since you are dealing with nylon strings, and only four strings. Also the ukulele requieres a smaller monetary investment ($100) for a decent instrument, whereas I think anything under ($250) for a bass or guitar may be of subpar quality. Then I will reiterate, pick an instrument that you really see yourself playing in your head. Goodluck my friend. PS. Im not a professional, i am just a dude who picked a guitar 11years ago and hasnt stopped since. Rock on my friend

Guitar is the most enjoyable to play imo but takes some time to learn the basic chords. Once you master those chords you can play tons of songs though.

Harmonica is very quick to learn, cheap, and fun to play.

Banjo-Unique and easy to play because of the open tuning and the instruments role

Ukulele-Like a guitar but simpler and can easily make the jump to a guitar if all goes well, plus their cheap

Bass Guitar-You know the joke, bass guitarists are just the shittiest guitarist. Bob that head and hit a root every 10 seconds, you'll be the greatest bassist of all time within minutes.
