Boomerang men

I met a guy after ending a long relationship. We dated pretty continuously for about 4 months or so. He went out with his friends and ended up running into his long term ex, and after a couple weeks of being distant told me he wanted to try again, blocked me on everything. During the span of about 5 months or so I would get a call now and again, telling me he was done with his ex, but would ultimately decide to go back.

We got back together a couple months after the “last time” he went back to his ex and dated again. He always had issues making it official even though he treated me as a girlfriend. Fast forward to a couple months into this “new” relationship and he becomes distant again starting to pull away. It turns out he re-kindled with a different girl this time. He continued to talk to me even when he was talking to her and continued to tell me he didn’t know what he wanted. Eventually he blocked me on everything and I haven’t heard since. I was beyond good to this guy, accepted crap I shouldn’t have, and he ended up throwing it away again. This man has other personal issues and shuts down when relationships become serious- emotionally unavailable. I did an incredible amount for this man and ultimately he still treated me like shit and ran away.

Do boomerang men like this ever change and want to come back as better people? & could this guy ever love this girl enough, or is he just the way he is?
