At the top level, in sports medicine the line between legit medical procedures and drugs and performance enhancements is blurry af even without hormones thrown into the mix.

All these Higher!Faster!Stronger! disciplines are outdated. They're not inherently interesting to watch unless you happen to do the same sport, and the question of how far humans can push themselves is considerably less interesting if a lot of that involves medical help. Also, athletes dying early or ending up impoverished or physically disabled because they spent their prime in a niche sport further disenchants the whole deal. There's a reason the Olympics keep losing relevancy.
