No one should be “taking over” in a relationship, it’s supposed to be a partnership. Not a dominant-submissive power hierarchy.

My confirmation priest(!) taught us that all relationships are power struggles, and I honestly believe that to this very day. I don't think there's any difference in this regard between women and men.

We all are different and we have different goals and desires at times, which will lead to conflicts, during which we of course will try to further our own agendas. Always accusing others of this is usually indicative of an inability to see or understand one's own desire to dominate.

This last part is, IMO also true for all kinds of relations. I'm always suspicious of people who claim that "most people are sociopathic" or that "most people will hurt you and don't care", because I think it indicates that the person saying this has not at all noticed all the times they have hurt other people.

Its not about women and men. It's about good people and bad people. Most people today think they have to play games to get the upper hand but if you met a good person that behaved this way they would figure out their issues and change.

People are shitty and are allowed to behave this way by society and in fact, get celebrated the worse their behavior is... you can't expect them to suddenly understand morals and values

i say it’s pretty common considering they’re always out to test your manhood, whether that be thru in-the-moment situations or petty problems that they will intentionally throw at you.

in retrospect you gotta let that stuff go. woman are totally different from men. but at the same time, love can be sought out by the two individuals. relationships create an itchy back that constantly need to be scratch by your partner. the beauty behind this struggle, is that they too will scratch you!
