Essentially, I spent a few years in a relationship with someone who loathed all my friends and didn't encourage me to spend much time with them. Our mutual friends have all sided with him in the breakup, and I haven't spent time with my female friends in 1-2 years because the relationship took up most of my free time after my hobbies and work.
The problem is that I'm not someone who has ever done well on Tinder or traditional stranger dating - I'm 25, not very pretty (definitely a 3-4 for the East Coast), and I've literally never been hit on out of the blue. I do my best to look nice and have a nice attitude, but I can't go to a bar and have someone buy me a drink or anything. My two previous longterm relationships have grown out of existing friendships, because I tend to grow on men over a longer period of time, and they're often willing to overlook the lack of conventional attractiveness for my other, better qualities. Unfortunately, this breakup has left me without a circle of good friends and acquaintances because I was so isolated for the last two years, and I'm not sure what to do now. I feel very lonely and even more isolated now and I'm upset at myself for allowing myself to be put in this situation. I certainly accept the blame, but I'd like to know how to fix it...
I'm very busy - I have a long commute, try to work out several times a week, have hobbies that keep me busy but that aren't very social. But I'm also aware that my time to find an LTR is running out, so I don't want to waste any more time. What should my next steps be?
