Edit For clarity because some of you are super autistic: I am not asking what I should say nor am I looking for Pill Heads to shout at me to “lift and stay on your mission.” It’s simply a discussion, bros 😂

You sound like the autistic one asking this question to be honest. It like literally not even a thing to have a discussion about.

Whoever: “How much do you bench?”

Me (with a sly grin): “Who me? I’ve never even been to a gym in my life!”

Or

Me (with a sly grin): “only lazy people lay down while they workout.”

Or

Me (with a sly grin): “What makes you think I bench?”

Or

Me (with a sly grin): “God! How much DONT I bench!?”

Or

Me (with a sly grin): “hah!”

Throw in a nice eye roll every time and you’re gold.

The fact that you’ve been answering straight with anyone other than a gym partner or someone you’re having an intellectual conversation about lifting with means you need to lift that social muscle a little bit more.

And don’t get all butthurt, or self righteous, or whatever all of your other responses have been, you and your over use of emojis are actually what makes this place look autistic.

That phrase seems to be a used often with newbies.

Keep lifting. Get stronger in other lifts as well and no one will say that phrase or try to give gym advice. Keep going
