Hey guys, hope everything is good. I just had an argument with my girlfriend of 5 months over one of her ex. I’m 22 and she’s 21.

Before what happened today, 2 weeks ago her ex of 3 years called mid day while we were driving. She didn’t picked up and we had a small argument and it ended on her blocking his number.

So today, we were at Target shopping around and while we were about to pay. She saw her ex and told me about it. He passed by behind us. We just ignored him.

When we were driving back home, I saw she got a text from “Steph”. I know who she texts frequently and there’s never a Steph. So I just ignore it. I got to my house and we were just chilling in bed.

I saw she was texting her mom and I ask her about the unread messages she had. She try’s to play it cool and tells me is one of her coworkers giving her opinion on my Christmas gift. That’s why she doesn’t want to show me. She starts kissing me and try to change the subject.

I told her to show me the text, I don’t care about the surprise. She resists, so I grab her phone. (I know my beta just came out.) I unlock her phone and saw the text from her ex, asking her “ I saw you at Target” she replies “how do you know?” And then some small messages.

She started freaking out on why I grab her phone, that she never does that to me. I told her why the fuck she’s texting her ex after blocking him and putting a different name on it. She tells me that the reason she can’t block him is because she owes him money ($100) for something she asked before we got together...who knows?

I told her to call him and make sure she’s not lying because if she calls, and ask him... how much I owe you and where to send the money, he will supposedly know what she’s talking about.

He answers and tells her is $100 and send it to Zelle, then went with “did I cause any trouble?”. She doesn’t make enough money to drop $100 (has $15 in her account) so I offered for her to borrow from me and then pay me back.

I haven’t give her the money yet because she had to go home. Idk if I should? This girl is a normal girl, doesn’t have guy friends. Follows a regular schedule of school, work and home. Sometimes visit her cousins that I know. Always has her location on and never hides her phone from me.

Idk if this was a misunderstanding or the worst will or already happened. Help please
