Young man, you're fighting both biology and thousands of years of successful human behavior. Of course it's going to be hard.

Think of it this way, for most of human evolution, vital sugars, fats and salts were difficult to get, so we developed cravings for them. Now, they are easy to obtain but we still have the cravings, so obesity and heart disease are running rampant.

It's the same thing with relationships. The survival of our species is dependent upon our drive to mate; the survival of our culture is dependent upon our desire to get into a relationship and raise a family. However, the current social and legal system makes trying to do either one dangerous to you as an individual. Your desire for a woman; not just the sex but the wish to have a relationship is the result of successful human reproductive strategy. However, much like fats, sugars and salts, your desire for them can lead you to a bad place. Simply accept your drives, realize that they are now self-destructive and go about your life as best your can.

This is coming from someone who at one point had over 3000 matches on Tinder. 99.9% girls (I'm talking about 7s and above) on dating apps are not there to sleep with you or date you, they are there to either get a free meal out of you, boost their egos by how many matches they get cause they are bored or just flat out talk to you for a bit and then ghost you cause they find it fun. Now I'm not saying I never slept with any girl from Tinder, but chances of it even if you are a good looking guy is really slim. That is why dating apps are a joke, now I only use Tinder when I'm doing cardio or taking a 💩 and never ever message them first regardless of how hot they are.

Right off the bat, you have to realize that most of the women on dating apps are well below average quality. If they weren't losers, a guy in their life would have committed already, or guys would at least be asking her out organically. They're preselected to be losers who don't get much male attention in real life precisely because they're losers.

I've always done very well on dating apps, but it's a colossal fucking time sink to keep that shit up, filtering out the massive amount of low and negative value women. So I trained up some AI... now it swipes, does all the openers, all the small talk and vetting, gets her IG and #, and uses some special techniques for evaluating whether she's fat that you often can't get just from text. It even gets a commitment from her to a date that's very low investment on my part. I don't spend a minute on a girl until it's high confidence she's worth my time. This means no more time wasted on:

low and negative value losers
marxist man-hating #metoo traps
attention whores who don't actually want to meet up
bots
literal whores
gold-diggers just looking for a guy to pay for dinner/drinks
driving 20+ min to get to her area

And in all of this, I'm still developing top tier valuable skills in my career field. I thought about selling access to it, but it's so against TOS on every one of these apps and would be too easy to shut down if it was ever running at scale, and it doesn't actually get you matches... it only filters the losers out for guys who get the matches.

As someone who had decent amount of "success" with online dating, I can tell you it's not worth it....even with alot of matches. The effort you have to put into it is a waste of time. The chance of ending up with a good woman is almost non existent.

I literally did some C-tier male modeling (advertisement) in 2+ countries already, was centerpiece in career publications (I was the hottest guy they could find I guess?) and can screenshot women unsolicited saying I'm hot. I still get CRAP results from Tinder and mediocre from Bumble!

Especially if we're talking about prime girls under 25. I seem to do better with some 25+ and many 30+ but the latter I have no interest in.

The 30+ I chat up a bit for fun but admittedly ghost them before it comes around to exchanging numbers. Based on meeting 30+ in the past I don't want to meet anymore of them.

Really the only place so far on OLD where I felt like I was getting my worth with sub-25 was rural Philippines. And I felt like I was downgrading a lot of the time because the girls were broke, short, flat bums and flat chests. And you would be surprised how many of them are still Feminists in the sense they still prioritized some $8 job (that's per day not hour) over me and wouldn't cook / clean for me.

I understand about checking out online dating from time to time, just out of curiosity. I compare it to using the gambling machines at a casino. You can send an email out knowing that it's unlikely to result in much of anything...but there's always THAT CHANCE!

I'm old enough to have seen much of the history of online dating, back to the late 1990's. Anyone remember America Online's dating section?

I'm an average or below-average-looking guy, something like that. The response rate to my emails in online dating was always bad. Back then, I didn't really understand why, but I suppose I figured that I just wasn't particularly good-looking -- and that I would just have to make up for it by putting more effort into it. Back then, with a lot of time spent, I did manage to get a very small number of dates and online-only friends, as well as one serious romantic relationship that ended up failing.

Once I read some MGTOW-related material, I realized how bad the odds are for an average-looking guy with online dating, and how my experiences were quite typical.

I haven't dated in over a decade now, and I don't seriously browse online dating anymore, more just out of curiosity. I might send out five emails a year now, whereas I used to average probably multiple emails per day, when I was trying to date, many years ago. These days, I send out the email with basically zero expectation of a response, and I can't remember the last time I got a serious response from anyone I sent a message to.

I've noticed a change in online dating, and it seems to correspond with the rise in social media and the smart phone dating community. I never got into the smart phone dating -- I think that I read somewhere that there are privacy concerns with at least some of it.

Anyway, I've noticed that the traditional online dating websites really seem to be in decline because of all that -- I guess that's the way the industry is going? The traditional online dating websites that I've seen seem like a shadow of their old selves. The search tools seem more limited, the number of searchable profiles seems much less, they appear to be much less active websites, and the stream of new profiles seems to have slowed by a lot.

To make it all worse, of the limited profiles that you do see, man, it's so often people who don't seem to have their lives together at all -- late 20's and a bad job. Some of them, I don't know quite how to say it, but they don't present themselves in a very high-class way, with some of the things they say in their profiles. Then there are the profiles that actually seemed determined to tell guys NOT to write to them, going off on all the types of guys that they DON'T want to hear from, or how much they don't like a lot of the guys. It sometimes makes me wonder why they are on a dating website.

In the early days of online dating, you could check into online dating, and there would regularly be new profiles of pretty women who at least seemed like real, honest people. Granted, there would be about a 0.1% chance of her writing back to an average guy, but if you wrote to a lot of profiles, the similarity to gambling or lottery -- that there was always a chance they might write back -- made it arguably enough fun to try.

I have a lot of good things about myself, but it seems that honest, responsible guys have been devalued right out of the dating system these days. It seems like it's down to a recreational system based pretty much strictly on what people look like, or even worse, people being chased after because they show off that they have a million-dollar house (which I don't think is actually real attraction at all).

One last note, I occasionally see the same women show up in search results on these websites, year after year. Some of them, I even knew for a while. They are typically all around middle-aged now, and really starting to show it. When I talked to them, we were in our twenties or early thirties -- if they had dated me seriously, there are so many great experiences that they could have had with me. Not only did they miss out on that, but it appears they are in a far worse situation than years ago, they are losing the looks that they had (not that that is the only thing) and are apparently stuck in mediocre life situations.

It's such a mess, and it does feel like the whole romantic relationship system has been ruined. So much for people finding their life partner in their twenties or early thirties, and sharing most of their life afterward with each other, building something great.

In place of that, we get series of failed relationships for many people, and so much less built between life partners.

Dating apps are the most toxic place to meet women in general... Not sure how this is entirely applicable to MGTOW, but there are better methods. Even very good looking men have a hard time getting matches. I wouldn’t be hard on yourself about this. In fact it’s a scam mostly (there are men who get lots of matches I’m just being blunt about it)

I fell into this habit too but now I just use it as a confidence boost.

Meaning I go on an app, set up a profile and start swiping but don't message any matches just take stock of the number of women who don't think you've a face like an ass.

Works well for me because I don't actually wanna chat to them because it goes nowhere.
