seems like your conflicted, and im going to throw out a hypothesis why: you see life without alcohol as richer and more rewarding but.... you feel a peer and social pressure to partake and drink "like a normal 21year old". your actually kinda stumped by this predicament. you didnt see it coming.

im happy to inform you that you are several years ahead of scedule with your personal development and "wisdom" sense. you see, there comes a point when a lot of us realise alcohol is just a shitty drug with a 10 billion dollar marketing team behind it.

look yourself in the mirror, or in your journal or whatever, and speak truth to yourself. be who you want to be. its gonna put you ahead of the game if you quit or reduce your intake to the minimum. alcohol doesnt have any performance enhancing effects. its your friend one day and your boss the next. people that drink are not gonna generally support you abstaining. dont give a fuck about them. you do you.

It’s different for me when I was 18-21ish in college it was fun getting hammered and partying/fucking drunk sluts 3-4 days a week

Now if I drink it’s a lot more calibrated in a way, with colleagues or to build connection, or to relieve stress from every day life

I have a similar mindset. Alcohol is like stealing happiness from tomorrow. It’s not that good Of a drug anyways. The good alcohol is also expensive so unless you’re ballin drink it sparingly.

If you don’t like binge drinking then don’t there’s no real benefits to doing so and also people are saying for social calibration that’s bs don’t use it as a mental crutch.

I've never enjoyed drinking. Not to mention getting totally hammered. I never understood people that went out to drink with the purpose of completely destroying themselves.

Alcohol was always something that just added a little bit more to the "fun" I had with other people.

All I can stomach nowadays is wine or a gin and tonic. Way too much partying in school, way too many blackouts. I don't really care about getting hammered much anymore, I just enjoy drinking a little around people I enjoy. I'm extremely ADHD so it slows my brain down a bit and makes me very euphoric. I don't overdo it anymore. Few drinks and I'm done
