I was a lurker for a while...I found fds like a lot of you, when I was trying to make sense of my narc ex who love bombed me.

You know how you can get rid of something harmful by replacing it with something better? I feel this place serves such a purpose. The sisterhood is so heart warming. I like the "block and delete" as much as when you ladies take your time to share your stories so one does not feel alone (and also revert to the mind game of "he's not that bad, he's not just a fuckboy like the others" nope he is).

Now that I am much less willing to compromis I go on dates without expecting much and as a result I can really hear what guys have to say. One of them told me that he was in a place of his life where he wanted to focus on his work, himself and so spent most of his time with his guy friends...and got a dog for the companionship. Lol. It struck me!! This is what fds is preaching, level up, spend time with your friends and focus ALL your energy on yourself. Although I've always focused on my work and on getting better, I would always feel restless when I was single...as if something was missing in my life. You know when I felt my best? When I was checked out from a relationship but still in it: I could focus totally on myself and my work without worrying about finding a guy because I was still technically in a relationship. That's totally crazy! I used to be a serial monogamist. I was close to fall into the trap again recently. I just avoided it by cutting the LVM I was seeing. I'm ready to be single till someone who really adds to my life shows up, but more importantly until I'm happy enough with my own journey. In the meantime, I'm grateful for you ladies, for the laughter, the warnings and the sisterhood.
