I’m on Tik Tok and sometimes videos of wives packing lunches for their husbands come up on my feed. The comments are a mixed bag as you would imagine. Some people condemn the action. Others highlight that it’s her choice.

The other portion points out how we may never know everything. They go on and on about how he might actually pay the bills, does hard labour, work and provide etc. And the wife likes these comments as if to confirm.

I’m all for women making their own choices. It’s just that when I see videos of women showing off the “providing” part of the ordeal (gifts, gestures etc from their partners), both men and women are always calling them gold diggers and hoes. They never consider all the things she brings into the relationship apart from all the gifts and gestures. They never consider giving her the benefit of the doubt. The men themselves let the comments run most of the time and do nothing to defend the women they love. The women involved almost always have to defend themselves.
