May I suggest , in the future, buying a book like " How to take care of X" before buying the X? Lord, son, be responsible.

I can research a good book on Amazon for you, but I need to know the species; the word 'parrot' can describe a wide variety of different birds, each with their own behavior and needs.

I have many parrots from small medium and large. Please do more research before just doing it. There's a lot to learn and they can be feisty. Feed it a mix of 90% pellets from Harrison's and 10% Dr Harveys blend of fruits nuts and seeds.

(Pelleted diet may be hard to get them used to it and could take months if they are extremely picky personalities)

Parrots bite. Even after having a loving tamed one for years you can read their body language after awhile to avoid a bite but they are crocodiles.

Be careful..... And hope you are buying from a license breeder who cares who should of given you everything you need to know. For profit non license ones will sell unweaned birds. They absolutely don't care and just want money.

Parrots bite. My sister rescues parrots, she said their jaws can exert 200 psi. Be prepared for that. The meanest parrot she has lets me pet him if i sing to him. I'm not a good singer.

I hope you got the wings clipped. Clip the wings so it doesn't fly away (I learned that the hard way). And maybe get a second parrot to keep it company- two parrots aren't much more trouble than one. And then enjoy! Parrots are pretty low maintenance compared to a dog or other pet. Give your parrot the best life and enjoy your new friend. Edited to say that there are pros and cons to having two parrots. So you might be better off with just the one. Make sure to give it lots of attention. If you do want another one, it should be got while the original parrot is still young. Just enjoy your parrot and spend time with it. Research online. There are tons of helpful tips.

Generally, it is recommended that you get two parrots of the same species if you wish to keep them together. If you have young parrots, this is the best time for you to get another parrot if that is your plan. This is because younger birds are much more likely to be able to get along with each other

Parrots can live for decades and you don't even know how to care for one before you got it? It's harder to own a bird than a dog or cat why didn't you get a dog?

Go on YouTube or something or find someone else to take it because you'll probably kill it with depression or mineral deficiencies within a year

No offense, but parrots are extremely difficult animals to take care of. I have a full decade of experience with my two 'tiels and my family has been keeping exotic birds for centuries. It's what we do.

My advice would be to head over to the r/parrots subreddit and start boning up. From the sounds of things, you have a lot to learn about these magnificent creatures.
