I just couldn't take it anymore. I hated feeling like a small cog in a giant machine. I hated coming in on weekends for work that was meaningless and unrewarding. I hated unpaid overtime, status meetings, and government customers.

And I hated the autocratic and arbitrary way the female managers handled literally everything. I hated every fucking thing about this job except one thing: that goddamned ping pong table. It was the only thing keeping me going.

I walked in and quit today. I'm leaving this massive corporate meat grinder and heading to a small avionics company. The benefits aren't great but the pay sure is.

I've never not worked for a massive corporation so I'm a little nervous about job security, but I know I'll be happier. Even if this new job sucks it can't be worse than my current one. I'm working my two weeks and kissing the government world goodbye. Never going back.

Wish me luck. Life's too short to be unhappy.
