I've been following Turchin's work for several years, he's a Liberal academic, and comes with that bias, but basically is onto something. And it explains whats going on.

That we have excess bickering elites, and an entrenched status quo.

And I suspect that the deciding factor will be common man and his personal choices. I personally short sell the technocult, and have for decades.

Its worked really well for me.

This article, is good fodder for those of us who see current situation as collapse possible in historic patterns.

Interesting that the Occupy Wall St movement, whilst categorized as white college educated, and therefore likely liberal, as the common factor is not tarnished with the 'white supremacy' tag. I guess it's only for the lowly classes for which that applies.

Wow thats pretty accurate about whats going on here now. Too many mouth breathers so they got to take out a few billion to stabilize the work force.

He misses the mark a bit.

Civilization requires two things.

Propaganda and lies to keep losers invested.
Losers to pay for the lives of the top.

When there are too many elites, the losers cannot pay for them. And when the propaganda is seen through (diminishing returns with lies, so it will always happen) losers will withdraw from society and either become a net negative (ex: mgtow) or fight against the system as they have nothing to lose.

At which point, the government will have to give more and more to keep them tame and cooperative until they can no longer afford it.

The issue with civilization is that we are humans. We technically could make it work and make everyone happy. But we are a tournament species.

So most people must lose....Which is also part of the reason mgtow is so good for men.

Without women, there is zero reason to lose. You just do what makes you happy instead of working your ass off to improve yourself to the point that you are no longer a loser (aka be a useful idiot in hopes of having a chance at pussy someday).
