They either look down on them (which is less common now) or they put them on a pedestal. And the strange thing is most women don't actually want to be treated equally. They want to be treated as If they're special, and this isn't just my opinion. I've actually talked to women who have told me that a guy should treat them as if they're special just because they have a vagina.

A disappointing amount of men actually think that they should treat women differently because they give them the opportunity to talk to them and/or go on a date with them. This is why men aren't respected these days.
