It’s because of the lack of upward mobility. No woman is going to divorce her husband without the next man to latch onto. As soon as the pandemics over, and the bars open up, and women can go out and look for the next man, divorce rates will skyrocket or at the very least normalize. It’s all part of the plan, just don’t be part of it.

Wait, you're telling me that in times of potential unknown futures, reduced incomes, limited social opportunities, and limited travel, women weren't as keen to blow up their safe household for the shot of some freedom? /s

As soon as things get back to normal, the drive to make up for all that was missed out on, plus being so sick of each other, will cause a crazy divorce spike no one has ever expected.
