While I don't know your relationship, I feel like I've gotten better at this throughout my long term relationship (4 years). I've just honestly learned to stop myself in the moment and think: Does this REALLY matter? Will getting annoyed at a small thing like, for example, a chore not being done really matter to me in 24 hours, a week, etc. If it's not worth it, then I learn to breathe and let it go. Don't let yourself spiral. Be less in your head and more in the moment. And if you have a genuine problem with something, bring it to him calmly in private and don't be accusatory.

Also if you don't know where your frustration or negative feelings are coming from (again, I don't know you or your relationship, and I don't mean this in a bad way at all), maybe talk to a professional. Going to a therapist has bettered me and my relationship immensely! It's really given me a new way of looking at life.

Are you sure it’s a perceived slight? Because there is a such a thing as being rude and if a man can’t take ownership of when he acts poorly towards his SO then this proves he isn’t a leader. My ex was like this, passive aggressive and mean to me when he started failing at life, but he would try to convince me I was “imagining it”. Nope. I have learned it is extremely important to find a mature man who can communicate his feelings in a healthy way without blaming you or the relationship will fail.

Tell him immediately when you feel slighted. Just say that comment hurt or something like that. Don't stew over it.
