I’m in a LDR also! We’re still in the early stages, but right now I try to be there for him when he has a rough day at work whether that’s letting him vent his frustrations to me or making sure to be as easy going as possible.

You can also mail him a care package with some of his favorite things (snacks, grooming stuff, etc.) and a sweet handwritten letter. It doesn’t have to be expensive at all but just some things for him to know you care about him.

Don’t coddle him, and try and hold back from making “helpful suggestions.” Encourage him and let him know you trust his judgment! Lots of positive language. Keep things light! If he brings a serious issue to you don’t dismiss it obviously, but there’s something to be said for not dwelling on it all the time.

But most importantly: ask him what he prefers or needs. That’s how you’ll know what’s best to support him!
