Hey guys,

I am 19M in college in nyc (virtual for time being) and I would really like some perspective from others. I feel like my generation has been conditioned to believe that friends, hookups, dating, parties is normal and a must. I realized that I don’t enjoy drinking, drugs, parties, dating or a lot of friends.

My questions:

  1. How do I be comfortable alone? Meaning how can I comfortably accept myself without feeling self conscious in going to a restaurant, zoo, etc by myself.

  2. How do I make quality friends at my age? I don’t like to pretend I like people, I hate being fake, but I come off as serious or very mature at times. This may be true and I am more academic focused, but I would like to find a couple of trustworthy like minded friends.

  3. How do I remove the thoughts of getting a girlfriend or simping for one. Always have that preconceived notion from my traditional upbringing that I will find a wife and live happy. But I just want to be happy by myself for the time being, I want to remove all those wasteful thoughts of me getting a girlfriend etc. How?

Thanks guys!
