Classical etiquette holds that you shouldn't shake unless she holds out her hand first. In addition, it tends to be less of a shake and more of a grasp. I personally find that I tend to almost turn the hand, rather than shake it.

let her dictate the level of interaction.

if she tries to hug, hug her. if she extends her hand, shake it. if she does nothing, just say her name again & smile... while looking her right btw the eyes.

hmmmhugz. Or at the very least, if she tries to shake, hold her hand with both hands for a moment before releasing
