I am considered "sexually successful" but I would prefer to adopt or foster than have my own bio child. It's not a hard and fast value for me but I'd prefer not to put my body through pregnancy

Alternate routes are expensive af (not that pregnancy is cheap) and I think a lot of us have an instinctual feeling of wanting to experience creating life yourself.

That sounds sappy and weird and completely against my pregnancy experience because I hated being pregnant and I did not romanticize the birthing experience at all. If it was safe for me to have been unconscious the entire time I would have taken that.

I still like that he’s mine he came from me and my husband. Not that I wouldn’t consider adoption if we had fertility issues or that I look down on it at all.

Why do people desire having biological children of their own instead of through these other methods?

For me, it's mainly because I like myself and my partner a lot more than I like the average person, so I assume that I would like children with our genes more than I would like a typical child. There are also many complications associated with adoption: you may be put on a waitlist with very little control over when your name comes up, you're more likely to get a kid with (potentially expensive) disabilities, you have to do a lot of paperwork, you may have to jump through hoops to prove you can be a good parent, etc.

(FYI I'm comparing adoption to bio kids, because IVF usually does result in a child who is biologically related to at least one member of a couple.)

The best option for these people is to choose the most efficient route to mitigate as much stress as possible. Which would be adoption, donor, IVF or practicing techniques to cope. It doesn't make sense to rot in a hole about it.

None of the other methods compare to the joy of conceiving your own child that ends up looking like you or having your characteristics.

Not to mention the fact that IVF is very expensive and adopting is a very lengthy and tedious process.

It's biology, there's nothing you can do to really change it.

Single males dont get to adopt kids. Probably a good thing tbh, there are too many degenerates around.
