It’s usually a good problem to have, if they aren’t interested they wouldn’t even care that you’re emotionally distant. So you have that going for you, defuse it with a joke. Example a girl told me something similar the other day, she’s from Eastern Europe so very different than Americans, I said « do I need to mansplain to you why I’m not emotionally available? » or completely dismiss what she said with something funny « wow there’s still snow today, bummer, I wanted to go to the beach »
