I posted this in some mainstream subs, but wanted to see what you guys think as well.

AITA for being hostile with a predatory friend?

I'm 21m. "My friend" is 20m. The girl in question just turned 16. I've known this guy for maybe a month as we're both living in a foreign country at the moment. So he's not a longtime friend but I see him a decent amount, pickings are slim here and just by virtue of speaking the same language and being the same age we're all in the same group.

I immediately clocked him as a weak guy, enough beta traits to make you vomit. Guys girlfriend lost her virginity to his bestfriend and cheated with his other bestfriend and he still took her back. If you guys saw this dude you would laugh.

We met her at a party a couple weeks ago (covid is not a thing where we are). She lied and said she was 19, but we knew it was a lie and quickly found her Instagram where she had posted her sweet 16 just a handful of weeks ago.

It didn't come up again until a few days ago. He messaged our group chat twice saying he was gonna try to sleep with her. I waited until I saw him in person and explained why it was really not okay, and asked if this seriously wasn't registering with him.

Instead of backing off he doubled down over and over on why I should be okay with this, "sHe'S mAtURe FoR hEr AgE", and how they have so much in common (they have as much in common as any random girl you meet at a party, they're both Jewish and that was it).

The more he tried to convince me, the more I was filled with rage. I wanted to spit on him. He is so weak and pathetic that he decided to turn to preying on a younger girl.

Tangent- Myself and all my friends back home like to think of ourselves of men of honor and morality, we'll always step in to do what's right. The type of crew that would do vigilante hits on pedos if we could. Lot of military guys in my group back home, to put the "vibe" into perspective- although I myself am not.

Back to the story, the more he made excuses, the more I got in his face. I have never respected him, but I kept my thoughts to myself up until this point. But now that he was seriously telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and he, an adult, was in the right to hookup with a highschooler (not even halfway through, mind you) I just lost it. I told him he is a loser and if I was him and I saw myself in the mirror I would fucking puke. I told him he's softer than puppy shit and so lost in life it's pathetic. I told him he's a predator and men like me do bad things to men like him. If he tried to speak I told him to shut the fuck up or else. I said he's so insecure I can smell it on his breath and every action he makes is rooted in fear and insecurity and that is why his voice is worth less than mine.

I know I went hard on this guy, but IMO and the opinion of my friends from I let him off easy but only disrespecting him and not making it a bigger issue. But now everyone in our "circle" here says I can't be mean like that and I went too far and he was joking (then why did he double down 10 times???). I think they're predator apologists and weak people. I have no interest in being in that circle anymore, because frankly I find them all pathetic after this incident, but I feel like some perspective would be good.

Did I go too far? I feel like the extremely high testosterone nature of my friend group back him is preventing me from objectively analyzing my actions here, because I feel like I did nothing wrong, and maybe should have done more, but everyone here says it was wrong to "alpha him" like that.

Tldr: I got extremely hostile with someone in my circle because they want to hookup with a minor. Now the circle says I'm in the wrong. I'd rather have my honor than my friends. What do ?
