What's up MGTOW. I've been browsing here for years across various accounts and have been MGTOW for about 4 years now and am taking the next step. I'm a 20M and currently going to college for cyber security. I finished my first semester recently and I know it isn't for me. The only reason I started it in the first place was to please my single mother that I've lived with for my whole life thus far. I've done things just to please her with several things in life but I'm a fucking 20 year old man. I refuse to just let her decide things for me any longer and I'm planning on dropping out of college and getting training to get into the NDT field. The training is about 7 months, is a total of 11k and has financial aid that will only need to be paid back once I get a job and the amount I pay back is fixed at 1.5x so about 16.5k. I'm planning on starting it and telling her within the next couple months.The school I'm planning on going to has 93% students hired straight out of it and starting salary would be about 50k going up to about 70-80k with experience and more certifications. Even reaching 100k+ later in my career if I play my cards right. I've done a lot of research and know this is what I want to do right now. The training I plan on getting is split into 6 months of online book work and classes and then 1 month of in person training, testing, and interviews with companies for which I'll need to fly to their facility. I have enough money saved up for all of the expenses. I know my mother is going to be upset, try to guilt trip me into doing what she wants, etc. However I will refuse to compromise. I want to do what I want to do in my life. I plan on getting my training, hopefully getting picked up by a company before or soon after graduation and then moving out from my mothers house soon after. This may not seem like a big thing but to me after growing up with her emotional manipulation it's gonna be a huge step. While I plan on starting the training and telling her about it in about 2 months I just wanted to put something out early to solidify my drive and to look back on. Thanks for reading.
